Momtrepreneurs: mums building brands online and getting results!!
Mar 8th, 2024A Click Mother’s Day Special
Being a mum is not easy. There are a thousand and one things that you feel you have to remember on a daily basis – and yet, crawling into bed exhausted but satisfied at the end of each day, it’s worth it to watch your littles thrive.
In today’s market, there are countless baby, toddler, or child products and services that claim to help make your mothering journey easier, in one way or another. There are some tasks, however, where you might feel the products and services available are not the best fit for you and your family.
The following mums (or, we prefer momtrepreneurs) found exactly that – a gap in the market where they felt the products or services were lacking – and so, decided to fix that problem with a solution of their own.
This Mother’s Day, Click pulled together some of our favourite brands created by mums, for mums, that are thriving in the digital market…
Safe Bandz
As a mother of four kids who were prone to running or wandering off on days out, Mia and her husband Chad felt like they had tried everything to keep an eye on all four of their kids. After having tried backpack ‘leashes’, writing phone numbers on their kids’ arms, and a range of other methods, they struggled to find a solution that worked for them.
…So they designed their own!
Safe Bandz are waterproof wristbands with reflective stitching that contains a QR code where parent or guardian names, contact numbers, and important information about the child can be accessed. With Safe Bandz, if a child finds themselves separated in a crowd, they simply need to ask an adult to scan the QR code and call their caregivers for a safer, and less stressful alternative to finding their lost child.
“Whether it’s letting the kids have a little freedom when staying at a caravan park, or losing them in a crowd wearing their Safe Bandz, they now have an opportunity to be found quicker and with less stress!”

After being made redundant whilst on maternity leave with her young son in 2020, Cheryl Rayner decided to launch her children’s clothing brand, Rocco & The Fox. The idea behind the brand was sparked, when Cheryl found that there was a lack of high quality, neutral, baby and toddler clothing – particularly for young boys.
“Rocco & The Fox is the home of modern and contemporary clothing for babies, toddlers and children with a focus on quality and a speciality in gender-neutral pieces.”
Following the launch of her brand in 2020, Rocco & The Fox has been featured in several publications, receives orders from around the world, and Cheryl herself has won several awards – including Digital Mother of the Year.
Childs Farm
After struggling to find bathing and skincare products on the market for her two daughters with eczema prone skin, Joanna was determined to find a solution that allowed her daughters to be happy and comfortable.
2 years later, the first Childs Farm products entered the market. Created using sustainable products, Childs Farm was designed specifically for children’s skin care needs – but also catering for those with sensitive and eczema prone skin.
Now an internationally loved brand, parents around the world can bathe their children without worrying that the products will have a negative effect on their child’s precious and sensitive skin.
Miss Rachel

When her young son was experiencing speech delays, American music teacher Rachel Griffin-Accurso found that there was a lack of media resources to help young children and their parents experiencing similar challenges.
“As a parent you want to do anything you can to help them and it’s not our fault when our child has a speech delay. A lot of things I teach are things I wish I had known for my son.”
Inspired by the techniques of her son’s speech therapist, Rachel began her YouTube channel “Songs for Littles” that combined nursery rhymes, children’s songs, and interactive activities to encourage language development milestones in toddlers and babies.
“I thought, ‘Wouldn’t it be great if there was a show that really encouraged language development and worked on these important milestones and was slow-paced and a real person and very interactive?…
…I kept searching for this show for him and we couldn’t find it, so I was like, maybe we can try to create it and maybe it would help more kids,”
Now known worldwide as “Miss Rachel”, her YouTube channel has over 8.56 million subscribers, and helps children everywhere learn their first words, encourages using sign language from a young age, and emphasises the power of learning through song and music!
Lil Advents
Struggling to find a way to get their eldest daughter interested in using the potty, Mindy and her husband Brandon had to get creative. Reminiscing on things they found exciting in their childhood, they mocked up a “Potty Training Advent Calendar” – and it was an instant hit with their reluctant potty trainer!
Having found it to be successful, they brought their innovative product to the market. Known as Lil Advents, their original product combines the excitement of Christmas with potty training – allowing children to open a window each time they successfully use the potty, and rewarding them with a small toy.
